Altus Design Studio
With the expat clients living in Asia during the renovation, this project was the ultimate exercise in trust. Perched on a Manly hilltop with stunning bones, this house required all the significant spaces to be optimised for it to be a home to this young family of five. Joinery throughout the house was completely redesigned, not only to improve the functionality of the living and private spaces but to enhance the double height ceilings in the casual living area at the rear. The clients love of earth toned and clay colours were skilfully woven throughout in blocks that tie the rooms together, creating a bold yet warm and inviting space. The addition of a new bathroom and kitchenette in the downstairs level means friends and family from abroad can now be welcomed.
